Chesnee

Founded in 1911, the city of Chesnee officially came into existence largely due to the booming railroad industry that was making its way across the region. Early on, the first school and medical care facility were introduced to the area, and the first bank, telephone company and post office weren’t far behind. Today, the charming city is home to approximately 1,000 residents—keeping the small-town feeling alive with an incredibly welcoming community atmosphere. Throughout the historic downtown district of the city, you’ll be able to browse a number of quaint shops and boutiques or stop in for a quick bite at a few of the local eateries around town. With a great school district in the city limits from elementary education to high school—children are encouraged to further their learning through academics, athletics and extracurricular activities. With the mountain views easily seen on a clear day—the city of Chesnee is a little bit of paradise within the state of South Carolina.
